Prof. Andrea Weber joins department

Starting February 1, Andrea Weber joins the Department as Professor of Economics. Andrea’s research focuses on Empirical Labor Economics and Applied Econometrics. She has published in leading Economics journals such as the Quarterly Journal of Economics, Econometrica and the American Economic Review.

Andrea holds a Ph.D. of Technical Sciences from the Vienna University of Technology and a Diploma in Economics from the Institute for Advanced Studies. She previously held the position of Professor of Economics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business.

Professor Horvath receives commemorative plaquette

The Department of Economics would like to congratulate Professor Julius Horvath who received a letter of thanks (Pametni List) from the Minister of Education of the Czech Republic Katerina Valachova for his contribution to higher education; He has been presented a commemorative plaquette as well on 19 July 2016 in Prague, thanking him for his devoted academic work in the field of higher education.

Professor De Chiara wins Göran Skogh Award

The Department of Economics would like to congratulate Professor Alessandro De Chiara for his recent success at the 33rd Annual Conference of the European Association of Law and Economics (EALE) in Bologna. Professor De Chiara was awarded the Göran Skogh Award for young scholars for the most promising paper presented.
