Research: Peter Szilagyi in Journal of Business Ethics on Insider Trading in FX Markets

Peter Szilagyi's research paper "When Kamay Met Hill: Organization Ethics in Practice" has been published in the Journal of Business Ethics. The paper investigates insider trading in notoriously opaque foreign exchange markets. Journal of Business Ethics is the top journal in business ethics, and one of the FT50 used by the Financial Times to compile global business school rankings.

Event: CEU InnovationsLab Named Best Accelerator and Incubator
September 28, 2018

The CEU InnovationsLab was named Best Accelerator and Incubator in Hungary at the Central European Startup Awards competition. It will represent Hungary in Sofia, Bulgaria in November at the Grand Finale of the CES Awards. The CEU InnovationsLab was invited to enter the competition and was then shortlisted by a jury of Hungarian experts along with four other incubators: Kitchen Budapest, Design Terminal, Drukka, and the Women Startup Competition Incubator. The jury and the public voted for the final winners for the country.

Forbes: Three CEU InnovationsLab FinTech Startups Named among Hungary’s 20 Most Promising

Forbes Hungary’s article “FinTech Revolution: Why Now? Why Is It Good for Us” has compiled a list of 20 most promising fintech startups in Hungary. Featured on the list are three startups incubated at the CEU InnovationsLab: Brokerchooser, Family Finances and Talk-A-Bot.

CEU was proud to be strategic academic partner to FinTechShow 2017, headlined by global fintech influencer Devie Mohan. The event featured 300 participants, three fintech accelerators, and 15 of Hungary’s most promising fintech startups including chatbot agency Talk-A-Bot incubated at the CEU InnovationsLab. Head of MS in Finance Peter Szilagyi presented on the global and Hungarian fintech ecosystem, and served on the judging panel of the event’s startup competition.

The Equilibrium Effects of Credit Default Swaps on Bond Markets" has been published by the Review of Financial Studies. Review of Financial Studies ranks among the 33 “World Elite” 4* journals in the CABS Academic Journal Guide, and is one of 50 journals tracked by the Financial Times and 24 journals tracked by University of Texas, Dallas to compile global business school rankings.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings has named CEU among the world's top 100 universities in social sciences. Ranked number 91, just behind the Ivy League's Brown University, CEU is one of only 31 European universities to make the list. CEU is not eligible for placement in the overall university rankings as it does not have undergraduate programs.

ERC: CEU Ranks #8 in Economics, Finance and Management

CEU ranks #8 among European schools in the number of European Research Council (ERC) grants held by faculty. The four ERC Starting Grants hosted by CEU firmly establish the school as a cluster of research excellence.
