CEU ranks #151-200 in Economics & Econometrics, and 206th in Social Sciences & Management in the 2019 QS World University Rankings by Subject, released February 26.
In Economics & Econometrics, CEU ranks #151-200 and 2nd in Central and Eastern Europe. It is on par with Aalto, Durham, Exeter, EUI, Geneva, Heidelberg, Notre Dame, Sapienza, Sorbonne, Sun Yat-sen, UC Irvine, Utrecht and York.
In Social Sciences & Management, CEU ranks 206th and 4th in Central and Eastern Europe. It is 121st in academic reputation. It is on par with Dartmouth, EUI, Macquarie, Nanjing, Queen Mary, Purdue, Rochester, TUM and UC Davis.
The MS in Business Analytics is ranked 50th and the MS in Finance 89th in the QS Business Masters Rankings 2019, released September 25.
With three subjects that rank in the top 50 universities worldwide, one in the top 100 and an additional three in the top 200, CEU tops all other universities in Hungary in these seven subject fields. In disciplines, CEU ranks 41st in Politics and International Studies, 44th in Philosophy and 44th in Social Policy and Administration. The university’s History program ranks in the top 100, Sociology in the top 150, and Law in the top 200.

The QS World University Rankings by Subject evaluates universities that offer undergraduate and/or taught graduate programs, exceed minimum academic and employer reputation scores and publish a minimum number of papers based on discipline. 48 subjects taught at 1,222 institutions, including postgraduate institutions such as CEU, are ranked across the globe.
