University Doctoral Awards for PhD Students

CEU Award for Advanced Doctoral Students Istvan Boza Anass Karzazi

The Department congratulates two of its PhD students for winning this year's CEU Award for Advanced Doctoral Students.

István Boza in our PhD in Economics program received the award for his outstanding knowledge in economics and ability to support economic analysis with empirical evidence. He also has great skills in handling large-scale datasets and estimating complex econometric models. In his research, István addresses very important and policy-relevant questions.

Anass Karzazi in our PhD in Business Administration program received the award for his outstanding GPA and exemplary work progress. He has been also involved in CEU's OLIve program for registered refugees and asylum seekers, the activities of award-winning CEU InnovationsLab startup incubator. Notably, Anass published an Ivey Publishing case study with his advisor Yusaf Akbar on the Miutcánk sharing economy platform incubated in the CEU InnovationsLab.
