"Even though I was always interested in finance, being born into a family of architects, I started off my career as an architectural engineer. It took me a couple of years to drift back to finance through project management, real estate asset management, and later management consulting. In the last couple of years, I was inclined to give in to my interest, and career aspirations, in finance studies, I just could not find the right time and the right place. When I came across the MS in Finance, it was a very quick decision to apply – the future-oriented curriculum, the broad international relations and opportunities, and the intensive one-year timeframe made it a perfect fit for me. The process went very smoothly with the help of the very flexible and helpful staff, and I found myself on board in a matter of weeks.
Now almost halfway through my studies, I think I am getting more than I had hoped for. I have found myself in a very lively and interesting, but also a very diverse and accepting, community. I am not only learning finance from internationally renowned professionals, but also broadening my view of data-driven decision making and business analytics. From having not written a single line of code before, I have already learned some applications of machine learning algorithms. Coming from a consulting background and having met the many needs of businesses, I am absolutely confident that the knowledge and skills we get here will be very valuable, and will help us prevail in the most challenging real-life situations. I can’t wait to see how my new skills will combine with my existing ones, and help me accelerate my career and find new ways for my future."
