Professor Kőszegi wins CEU award for Outstanding Research

The Department would like to congratulate Professor Botond Kőszegi for winning the CEU Award for Outstanding Research in AY 2014/2015.

The aim of the award is to recognize outstanding research by CEU faculty that has had a significant international impact. 

The Award will be presented at the Opening Ceremony on September 21, 2015.

Professor Kőszegi wins Yrjö Jahnsson Award

The Department of Economics is proud to announce that the 2015 Yrjö Jahnsson Selection Committee has awarded Botond Kőszegi the 2015 prize for his contribution to the theoretical foundations of behavioral economics, and its application to public finance and contract theory. His influential research on reference-dependent preferences extends the concept of loss aversion by determining the reference point endogenously.

University Doctoral Award Winners Selected

Olga Radzyner Award Winners Selected

November 18, 2014

In 2014, Dzsamila Vonnák 6th year and Vukan Vujic 5th year Economics PhD students won the Olga Radzyner award. Dzsamila for her paper titled “Determinants and Riskiness of Corporate Foreign Currency Lending: the Case of Hungary”,  Vukan for his work "Internal Capital Markets and Transmission of the Crisis: Evidence from Foreign Bank Subsidiaries in Eastern Europe".
