Ultra Balaton Race Completed for the FOURTH Time

UltraBalaton, one of the longest and most popular ultra and relay running races in Hungary, was held on May 4-5. Runners passed through the picturesque hills of the lake’s north shore and spectacular beaches in the south. The team of the Department of Economics and Business completed the 211 km course in 19 hours and 10 minutes. Congratulations to their 204th place out of the 1528 teams that started in total.

The CEU team led by Mihály Fazekas (CEU DPP) consists of Ágnes Bátory (CEU DPP) and Arieda Muço (CEU ECBS) and will involve many other colleagues at the postdoc, PhD and MA levels. The RESPOND project is funded by the Horizon Europe programme, and it will shed light on political corruption and undue influence that undermine the quality of democracy across Europe. It will specifically look at corrupt phenomena in political finance, lobbying, revolving doors/personal ties, and media capture.The project will run for 5 years and is coordinated by University of Bologna (Italy),

The Econometrics of Multi-dimensional Panels

The second extended and updated edition of the book 'The Econometrics of Multi-dimensional Panels' has just been published by Springer Nature, with substantial involvement of the Economics Department faculty and doctoral students (see here). In light of the big data revolution and the emergence of higher dimensional panel data sets, this volume provides new results to synthesize existing knowledge on the field.
